For man is always bound so long as he depends for his happiness on a partial experience; joy must always give way to sorrow; otherwise, it can never be known as joy.

More than a mental health podcast

If you found out you had five minutes left to live, what ten things would be on your list of regrets? And what would that list convey about the way you've lived so far?

In How To Die Happy, Martin O'Toole, Julia Malcolmson, guests, and co-hosts from the How To Die Happy Collective explore our pursuit of happiness, irrational fear of death, and everything in between.

How To Die Happy isn't just a mental health podcast or a guide to alternative health. We talk about all things mind, body, and soul, with the no.1 aim of sharing ideas on how to find happiness by reframing the way we live in the first place.

Why wait until it's too late to change your life? There's literally no time like the present.

It all started when…

After his third mental breakdown and 25 years in the rat race, writer Martin left London, moving to Bali to live a mindful life. Distinctly happy following two years of ‘going inward’, he determined to share practical utilities to help others find their way towards a happy life (and death).

A seasoned traveller and yoga teacher, Julia gravitated to the healing hands of Bali in need of spiritual nourishment and a new environment. Fast-forward a few years on, and the two are inseparable, on and off-mic.

The art of dying well

With a heady mix of true stories, laughter, tear-jerking chatter, and a dollop or two of deep introspection, How To Die Happy is a podcast about the respective arts of dying and living well. Why? Because the secret to dying well is a life well-lived.
